LVMH — École Polytechnique

When the construction site echoes Parisian history.

Stratus set design — LVMH École Polytechnique

The Brief
For large-scale works on the historic former École Polytechnique site, at the heart of the 5th arrondissement, the LVMH group entrusted Stratus with the construction hoardings. In this listed Montagne Sainte-Geneviève neighbourhood — with its preserved architecture and heavy tourist and student footfall — the goal was clear: hide the works with the greatest possible elegance, without distorting the spirit of the place.

The Creative Vision
Rather than impose a frontal brand message, we designed this hoarding as a genuine cultural and memorial journey. The temporary facade becomes an open-air exhibition retracing the "History of the Montagne Sainte-Geneviève". With its soft tones chosen to blend harmoniously with the surrounding cut stone, the installation invites passersby to read and contemplate archive material, turning the constraint of the construction site into a positive contribution to neighbourhood life.

Working on a listed site at the heart of Paris demands absolute rigour, both in design and execution:

Museum-grade quality outdoors:
Ultra-high definition printing guarantees perfect legibility of the historical texts and archive reproductions, even up close.

Architectural integration:
Bespoke design of the structure to perfectly hug the contours of the monumental entrance, the existing railings and the natural slope of the street.
